First Graders kicked off a new writing unit based around National Parks by having a video call National Park Ranger Meghan. Park Ranger Meghan works at the Cane River Creole National Historical Park in Louisiana. She taught us about the differences between the 433 NPS sites. We also learned about about what we could do if we visited the park she worked at. Then to finish up, we learned about the NPS arrowhead symbol and created our own arrowhead symbols.
