Madison, WI - Rylinn Rossi, a High School student at Mercer High School, has been recognized as one of the 2025 recipients of the Xello/Method Test Prep High School Student Scholarship presented by the Wisconsin School Counselor Association. The Xello/Method Test Prep Scholarship recognizes high school senior students and the role their school counselor played in their high school success.
Rylinn Rossi plans to attend Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College. She stated that her “school counselor has played a crucial role in helping me chart this course and ensuring I am ready for the demands of college and beyond.” Rylinn also stated that “Through insightful conversations, valuable workshops, and meaningful connections, my counselor has equipped me with the knowledge and confidence I need to pursue my dream of becoming a police officer.” Rossi’s current school counselor at Mercer High School is Amanda Kopka. In addition to supporting Rylinn’s future goals, her counselor has supported Rossi with her social and emotional needs. Rossi said, “Ms. Amanda quickly recognized the challenges I was facing. She reached out to me and encouraged me to share my feelings, creating a safe space where I could express my fears and frustrations without judgment. With her encouragement, I began to channel my feelings into something I loved: volleyball.” WSCA is proud to award Rylinn Rossi with one of our Xello/Method Test Prep High School Student Scholarships to assist in the goals she has set for her future.
Every February, the Wisconsin School Counselor Association recognizes students and individuals within the school counseling profession who demonstrated a profound impact on the school counseling profession and the lives of students. Applications for the Xello/Method Test Prep Scholarship are submitted to the Wisconsin School Counselor Association Professional Recognition & Scholarship Committee and are rated by a committee of active and retired school counselors. The organization selects four individuals to receive this award. Award winners were recognized at the WSCA National School Counseling Breakfast this year over a virtual presentation.
