Hours and Days of Operation
The program runs Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 3:25pm. and runs in concession with the Mercer Public School Calendar.
Enrollment
Parents interested in enrolling their child(ren) should call the program (715) 476 – 2154 Ext.287 to determine if there is available space. Children cannot be enrolled into the program until they are two and a half years of age.
Drop off Policy
Drop off should occur between 7:45am and 8:00am.
In order to uphold the integrity of the children’s daily schedule, we request that children be dropped off no later then 10:00am with the exception of doctor’s appointments or an emergency. Staff should be notified as soon as possible in advance of changes to drop off time.
We ask that drop off not occur during nap time (12:30pm-2:30pm) as this is disruptive to the group as well as possibly difficult to your child.
Pick Up Policy
Pick up should occur between 3:00pm and 3:20pm.
It is imperative that children are picked up by their scheduled pick-up time. If your child has not been picked up by 3:30pm parents will be called. If we are unable to reach you by 3:35pm, the emergency contacts listed will be called. If we are still unable to reach anyone by 4:00pm the Iron County Sheriff’s Department will be called.
Arrivals and Departures
If dropping off or picking up your child(ren) please accompany them into the classroom and let a teacher know you have arrived. This is the time to discuss with staff any relevant information that would help your child during the day.
When picking your child up, notify a teacher that you are leaving. It is imperative that a parent makes the teacher aware they are picking up their child.
Only those people authorized in writing by the parent or guardian may pick up a child. The school must be notified in advance if someone other than a parent will be piking up a child, and this person will need to present identification.
Absences
Please call the school as early as possible on a day your child will be absent or if your arrival will be delayed so we may better plan for the day. If your child is absent due to health reasons, please let the school know by calling (715) 476 – 2154, Ext 500
Sickness
If a child has a fever of 100.4 or higher, they will be required to stay out of school until fever free for 24 hours without the use of acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
A child on antibiotics must be excluded from school from the time of diagnosis until 24 hours after the first dosage.
If a child already at school exhibits symptoms requiring exclusion, until they can be picked up. The child will be kept in a quiet isolated area of the classroom on their nap mat. Mats will be sanitized after the child leaves school.
If a child is ill with a contagious disease parents are to let the school know so that other parents may be informed. School staff shall send home notice of the type of communicable disease, symptoms, and precautionary measures that can be taken.
Toys from Home
We ask that children’s toys stay at home. Toys from home are difficult to share, and we cannot be responsible if they become lost or broken. Comfort items for nap are the only exception, and should be kept in the child’s cubby, unless needed at “difficult” times.
Mandated Reporters
All school staff are mandated reporters. We are required by law to report suspected abuse and neglect to the Iron County Human Services and the Iron County Sheriff’s Department.
